Seatbelt News Story
video! Sara's Wish Foundation's dream of a portable seatbelt may become a reality! Ten years ago, shortly after the death of their daughter Sara in a bus accident in India, Anne Schewe, with the support of her husband Charles, began dreaming of inventing a portable seatbelt for travelers to take with them to use on buses and other vehicles not equipped with seatbelts. Thanks to some young engineers at the University of Massachusetts/Amherst, this dream may come true. To financially support Sara's Wish Foundation's national campaign for travel safety awareness including the promotion of the portable seatbelt and/or to support our travel scholarships for worthy young women, CLICK HERE. SARA'S WISH FOUNDATION was established to perpetuate the memory of Sara Christie Schewe. In 1996, Sara, a beautiful and loving young woman, was killed in a fatal bus crash in India along with three classmates while participating in the University of Pittsburgh's Semester at Sea Program. Sara's Wish Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Safe And Rewarding Adventures for students, emerged out of this Semester at Sea tragedy. Following travel safety guidelines can save your life. This is the most important travel tip you may ever receive. Learning about international transportation issues and following some important travel tips may save your life, or the life of someone you love. If you are considering studying abroad or participating in a foreign exchange program, be sure to check out our Travel Safety page.
